Artist's Statement
My work combines a wide range of themes, but I am currently focusing on basketball and the world that comes with it. As the only female manager for Georgetown Men’s Basketball I have a very unique perspective that shapes how I see the game, the players, and the team environment. Whether I’m courtside or in the studio, I am always thinking about how visual storytelling connects people and captures moments in time.
As a manager, I spend hours a week with my team which has given me an inside perspective on what it means to be a student athlete at a high-major school. My portrait series: NCAA to NBA captures that journey – the early mornings and late nights, the family members and support systems, the heartbreak, the injuries, and the endless travel that comes with chasing a dream.
Through painting, I aim to reveal the humanity, emotion, and discipline behind the sport – showing the players not just as athletes, but as individuals navigating pressure, ambition, and identity. My work exists at the intersection of art and athletics, the two worlds that have made me who I am today. My paintings are a way for me to honor the people and experiences that shape my life.
