Emily Higgins is an artist from Arlington, Virginia and a recent graduate of Georgetown University, where she earned a degree in Studio Art. During her time at Georgetown, she served as a manager and social media intern for the men's basketball team. Inspired by her role within the program, her work explores the intersection of sports, identity, and representation. Working across oil painting, graphic design, and mixed media, she creates portraiture and digital content that capture the dedication and emotion behind athletic performance and the ways athletes are represented across platforms. She hopes to pursue a career in creative design and social media while continuing her painting practice.
